The original bingo hall opened in 1983. It became the Casino Morongo in 1992, and opened with 35 card tables. A new building was opened in 1995, with more tables added.
The expanded Morongo Casino Resort & Spa was opened on Dec 10, 2004, and the Casino Morongo was then used for bingo, bowling and special events after the new Morongo Casino opened (no longer any real gambling at Casino Morongo).
In 2018 when the newer Morongo Casino was expanded, a few hundred slots were moved to the reopened & remodeled Morongo Casino and gambling resumed at the smaller location.
There is also a Morongo Travel Center with ~40 slots that opened in 1979 and is still open currently; this is a gas station and convenience store with slots only.

Update from J. Eric Freedner (3/12/2022): "All 'Casino Morongo' chips (CG 257479, 257531, 257481) are now OBSOLETE. The cage cashier said that people were taking those chips up to the Morongo Casino tower and playing them in the big cardroom. They got all confused about it. So they removed the Casino Morongo chips and destroyed them, several months ago! The Casino Morongo instead now uses the same Morongo chips as used in the main casino tower."

On July 6, 2019, Lee Greenwood appeared in concert at Morongo. For it, the casino released a 4-denomination set of chips. Each with a different image of Mr. Greenwood, and different patriotic designs on the other side. Reverse: bald eagle and flag, lines from the chorus of his hit song "Proud to Be an American." You have to collect all four to get the entire chorus lyrics.
