Jacques Jurietti opens July 27, 1880 the "Cercle International" in a building constructed in five months. It is located at the corner of rue Cunin-Gridaine ( President Wilson since 1918) and Sornin.
This Cercle, founded officially on 1 April 1880, will be at the origin of horse races (1875) horse show (1887), the pigeon shooting (1889). In its gambling rooms were played big money – on baccarat, whist, ecarté ...
The Cercle cease its activities in August 1911, on the eve of the First World War.

"..je me suis d´envoyer de Vichy un certain nombre de jetons du Cercle International, et je mets ici sous les yeux du public, à tire de nouvelles peces à conviction, le fac-simile de trois jetons; un de 20 francs, un de 5 francs et un de 100 francs.
Les jetons de vingt francsd´une exiguité propice à l´étoufagge sont en nickel, ceux de cinq francs en os, ceux de ent francs en nacre. Il existe aussi des plaques de 500 et de 1000 francs.."

"I have sent from Vichy a certain number of jetons from the Cercle International , and here I am putting before the public, drawing new evidence, the facsimile of three tokens; one of 20 francs, one of 5 francs and one of 100 francs.
The tokens of twenty francs of a neatness favorable to the slackening are in nickel, those of five francs in bone, those of francs in mother-of-pearl. There are also plaques of 500 and 1000 francs ..
