An illegal club originally owned by Earl Sausser and Walter Melrose, and then just Melrose when Sausser died in 1942. Located at what is today the corner of Grove St. and Highway 111. Sometimes referred to as being in Palm Springs, the club was actually in Cathedral City. The structure was torn down in 1985 (see "Archive").

Harvey: "red dice w/ 139 etched in gold. After research & considering where I bought the Dice, I have determined that they came from the "139 Club" that was in Cathedral City, CA. I bought the dice from an EBAY seller in Laguna Hills, CA."
