Owned in the late 1920s and early 1930s by Louie Marquette. Originally called the "Assembly Cigar Store". Likely owned by Claude Rhoades in the 1940s. Bought by Robert Nair in 1947, who in 1948 paid a $100 federal tax in order to operate gambling machines at the store.

T. R. King sold 1200 of these large crown chips in six denominations to Mr. Claude Rhoads, Assembly Cigar Store, 374 Alvarado Street, Monterey, California, in 1946.
