| The Casino was born in 1840 under the designation Gabinete Literario y de Recreo . It is the oldest society that exists in this city of Santa Cruz ... It was established in January 1840 in a room of the house no. 4 of the Plaza de la Constitución.. The association had moved its headquarters twice.Finally, in 1860 would be moved to number 11 Plaza de la Constitucion .
Gabinete de Lectura changed its name to Casino Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1849 , when he decides to move its headquarters . In 1935 , with the inauguration of the Casino brand , the company changed its name to Casino de Tenerife.
The Casino de Santa Cruz de Tenerife is intended to provide members an address to serve them, as a meeting center ,for leisure and recreation, to read books , magazines and newspapers required to their culture , being forbidden any act of nature or political or religious bias.( casino site) Early on, the gambling was their main source of income. Nowadays there are no gambling in the casino. |
