Owned by Edward P. (Tilly) Thilgen and R. C. Green. Originally called the "Rex Pool Hall", at 75 E. 3rd St., and raided in 1935 for gambling, with Thilgen arrested. Around 1950, Thilgen gains a card room license and moves the card room to 79 East 3rd Street, and changed the club name to "Rex Playhouse".

T. R. King shipped 1000 of these light blue paranoid (plain mold) chips in 1943, and 2000 of these large crown chips in two colors in 1948 to E. P. Thilgen, The Rex, in Pittsburg, CA.
