C. W. Rice shipped 700 of these HHL-mold chips in four denominations to Mr. K. Ellis, Davenport, California, in 1968.

In November 1967, Kenneth C. Ellis bought (along with a partner) the "Miramar Inn" a tavern located in Davenport at the corner of Highway 1 and Ocean Street (see Archive). These chips might be related to that establishment.
