Orginally owned by Charles. A. Fox. The hotel burned down in 1968.

The United States Playing Card Company (Cincinnati, OH) shipped the diecut inlaid "FOX" chips in six colors to C. [Charles] A. Fox, Taft, California, on 10/16/1914.

T. R. King sold 1000 of these large crown chips in four denominations to M. M. Knoles at the Fox Hotel, Taft, CA in 1945. A Mr. M. N. Knoles was granted a business license to operate gaming tables at the Fox Hotel on 10/13/1946. (see Archive)

An additional shipment of 2000 of these chips in five denominations was made to L. W. Giboney, Brass Rail Bar, 412 1/2 Center Street, Taft, CA, in 1964. (There are slight differences in chip colors/denomination style between the 1945 and 1964 chips.)
