50298 Highway 99
Cabazon, California
Type: Card Room
Status: Closed
Open: 1959, Close: 1972

Also called "Casino Desert Sands". Originally owned by Donald E. Brimmer and located at the corner of Broadway Ave. & Highway 60. It moved to Highway 99 in the 1960s.

For a while it was Cabazon's only licensed card room after the El Cid Casino closed. It closed in 1972 when the town of Cabazon voted to dis-incorporate as a city. The card room needed to acquire a new license at the county level, which was at that time not possible (see "Archive").

Front lists the poker games offered. Note that there's no area code on phone number. Inside there is a hand-written date of October 11, 1970, a Sunday, which indicates at least a year that the club was open.
