The Cercles de Jeux are private clubs , where they are only allowed card games and multicolore- a mix of roulette and billiard, exclusive of these establishments. To operate gambling it is required a special permit from the Government, which needs to be renewed from time to time, usually 2 years. Some rich merchants of the city of Arles, decided in November 1904, to acquire the mansion of the Rue de Cloitre in order to install a gambling cercle. In the heart of the beautiful city of Arles, the mansion that houses the Cercle de l´Avenir covers some 1000 square meters.
