| The Casino de Châtel Guyon was inaugurated July 16, 1901.
At that time he has only the room that currently houses the slot machines. The theater does not appear until 1902.
In 1908 the building was remodeled and enlarged by Edward Nierman, the architect of the Moulin Rouge or the Hotel Negresco in Nice.
He added the back room: baccarat room, then called "Petits Chevaux" (this game is the ancestor of the boule).The Casino de Chatel Guyon has been completely redesigned and redecorated in 2000 in a Colonial style with an exotic flavors of the East. Pos WWII -Opened from 1948 up to 2012, excepted in 1992.
In May 1993 the Châtel Casino company was formed to operate the games.
Several groups were involved in the management : La Tête dans les Nuages ,
Partouche , Société Française de Casinos (SFC)
The casino is owned by SFC- Societé Française des Casinos ( has more two casinos besides this- Gruissan e Port La Nouvelle), that has purchased the same to Partouche group in 2006. |
