The Sporting Casino is an architectural building in neo Basque style, associating a casino and a sports complex. It was built between 1927 and 1928 and between 1930 and 1931. It had cinema-dancing, gambling  rooms and baccarat room, restaurant, hall, swimming pool, tennis court, etc. It was inaugurated in 1928 and partially destroyed during the Second War. It was restored and reopened in 1948. The gambling reopened in 1948 and worked until nowadays.Founded in 1927, the company Société des Hôtels et Bains de Mer d' Hossegor (SHBMH) was granted a gaming license after completion of the complex in 1931.The gambling stopped during WWII. After WWII, the gambling reopened in 1948 working until now.Between 1966 and 1968 the casino presents an uncertain future. In 1969 was acquired by the Municipality to the Societe des Hotels et de Bains de Mer d 'Hossegor. And a remodeling of the casino was made.The casino was called CASINO MUNICIPAL. In 1997 the Casino was acquired by the group Lucien Barriere that makes a new remodeling of the casino. The casino  was called CASINO BARRIERE d´HOSSEGOR. In 2006 it was acquired by the Hirigoyen family (TH Finance - Thierry Hirigoyen), which already owned the Hendaye and Cap Breton casinos. It was renamed SPORTING CASINO HOSSEGOR.
