The attribution of the H&C mold inlaid "covered wagon" chips is traced to Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998). Note: Eastman attributes different H&C-mold "covered wagon chips to the "Pioneer Rex Casino" (Jackson, CA). The attribution of the HHL-mold "PI" hot stamp chips is traced to Armin Pfaender's California Chip Guide (2004).

Advertisement from 1/21/1972 (Contra Costa Times). Photograph from September 1979 (The Gambling Scene, Vol. 2, No. 8).
