The "Far Western Tavern" opened in 1958. The "Far Western Poker Casino" opened in 1970 on the second floor of the tavern. It closed 9 months later after a fire gutted the card room. Licensed for five tables and operated by Art Bauer and Al Cicero.

T. R. King sold 4200 of these small crown chips in seven denominations to the Far Western Tavern, 9th & Guadalupe Streets, Guadalupe, California, in 1970.
