Club Portuguez, similar to traditional English clubs, was founded before 1876. Club with restricted access was frequented only by politicians, bankers, capitalists and senior officers.
Initially instaled in the Barcelinhos Palace, moved in 1904 to number 20 Rua da Misericordia.
He had other addresses until its closure in the first two decades of the twentieth century.
