The Chinese character (center inlay, top character) translates as "ying" which is an abbreviation for England, although it could refer to something else. The bottom Chinese character is a denomination of which there are four (50 cent, 1 , 5, and 10).

Burt Co. records (below) indicate that the chips were sent to the Bowman Co. (Chicago, IL), a gambling supply distributor, in 1961.
