| Clube Recreativo Penichense was founded in13 October 1879. On April 4, 1886, the statutes of the new association, which changed its name to Sociedade Recreativa Penichense, were approved.
In the General Meeting of May 19, 1901, José Soares de Oliveira, on behalf of the builder of the Club, offered the new building to install the Sociedade Recreativa Penichense
On 4 July of the same year 1901 finally took place the first General Assembly of the current Clube Recreativo Penichense. No more gambling in the club.
