Belle of Baton Rouge Was: Argosy 103 France Street Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802 MAP Type: Riverboat Slots Only 800-676-4847 Status: Open Open: 10/2005 Link to Website Jazz Enterprises opened the Belle of Baton Rouge riverboat casino, with Argosy Gaming Company managing it, on September 30, 1994. Argosy Gaming purchased Jazz Enterprises in June 1995. Argosy Gaming changed the name of the casino from Belle of Baton Rouge to Argosy in July 1999. Penn National Gaming, Inc. purchased Argosy Gaming in October 2005. Then just weeks later, Penn National sold the casino and hotel to Columbia Sussex, which changed the name back to the Belle of Baton Rouge. In 2018, Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLP) purchased the real estate and leased the operating business to Eldorado Resorts. In 2020, Caesars, which had acquired Eldorado Resorts, agreed to sell the casino's operating business to CQ Holding Company; that sale was finalized in May 2022. January 2023: A visit showed that there are no table games other than electronic table games, i.e. no chips in play. Chip-based table games could possibly return in late 2024.
