Roy Cooke played poker professionally, initially traveling the country's cardrooms, but then moved to Las Vegas in 1981 and became a casino executive, who had a major role in Planet Poker Internet Cardroom. Roy Cooke, Planet Poker Cardroom Manager, served in that position Jun 1999 - Jul 2006 -- being the worlds first Internet poker room to play for real money. He Combined his computer education with his knowledge of poker, Roy participated in the day-to-day management, solved issues, directed personnel and drafted policies for integrity monitoring of the website. He also advised in the software development of an Internet gaming program and all the back end requirements for the sister company AceKicker.com. In September 2006, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) in the U.S. changed the legal landscape for the internet industry and sites like Planet Poker Internet Cardrooms. By the time the act was passed, Planet Poker had registered over three quarters of a million customers. In response to the UIGEA, however, Planet Poker suspended real money operations in March 2007. Planet Poker previously operated as a free play (subscription based) poker site through 2007-2017 and ceased operations in 2017.

Mike A. Caro (born May 16, 1944) is an American professional poker player, pioneer poker theorist, author of numerous poker books, and casino executive, who had a major role in Planet Poker Internet Cardrooms.
