The Cercle was installed on the first floor of Casino Salon, from 1875, until the fire occurred in the casino in 10th August 1903.
"The Casino de Trouville has two circles located on the first floor on the same floor, door to door. They are separated only by a partition. One of these two circles, which remains open only during the fortnight of the Deauville races, is called CERCLE DE LĀ“UNION. It is the chic circle where the Duke of Hatzfeld, the Clermont-Tonerre, the Letellier, etc. are cut. Are admitted - in principle - only the members of the closed circles of Paris and people brought by one or two godparents already part of the circle. Any woman presented by a member of the circle and also admitted. The other circle is called Cercle Trouvillais. There can enter in who wants. The godfathers who are required by the General Surety are provided by the circle itself. "(Le XIX Siecle,11-7.1893).
About the Casino Salon fire.
"The casino has not been completely destroyed, but the flames have made, in a few moments, terrible ravages ... The fire must have taken by a short circuit in the attic gambling parlors located on the first floor, salons of the Cercle of Trouville, the UNION, and the Jockey Club ... "(Le Petit Parisien 8.11.1903). |

A fraud by a Cercle Union Dealer:
"... had exploded the previous night at the CERCLE UNION in Trouville.
It's always the same story. A well-known sportsman pruned at one of the tables, and the party was hot. At the end of the waist, the banker asks for his jetons to be changed, and the croupier hastens to smother one of the two plates of 25 louis. A friend has noticed the thing and shouts: To the thief. The villain protests his innocence, but the gamblers, search, undress him almost, and it is simply found eight thousand francs more than his account, hidden in strange pockets "(Gil Blas, 8.13.1891) Secondary entry "At the Cercle Union of the Trouville casino, the chips of 100 francs and those of 20 francs are of mother-of-pearl and identical size; recognize them because those of twenty francs are tinged with red; but it happens that by dint of serving the red goes on the sides. So that once stacked it is impossible to recognize without staggering those one hundred francs of others of twenty francs. Whenever Carriere demanded money of a hundred or a hundred and fifty louis, Roland slipped tokens of twenty francs between those of a hundred francs, and Carriere hastened to mingle the pile with those who were on the table. The banker saw only fire "(La Lanterne 8.11.1903)
