In the 19th century, Pourville becomes a fashionable seaside resort, that attracted many personalities residing or second home: the painters Claude Monet and Auguste Renoir, Claude Débussy the musician, etc Was there ,that Monet painted in 1882, the famous “ Beach in Pourville”. The complex of new casino hotel date from 1883, was completed in 1900 and enlarged in 1905. The building was renovated in 1922 and took the name “ Grand Hotel Casino”. Gambling was open from 1922 to 1935. In 1942, after the bombing and Operation Jubilee, the landing of Allied Canadian troops in August 19, 1942, the Casino was totally degradated. After the demolition of the old building, the reconstruction begans in 1958, and the opening of the new Casino was in July 8, 1959. After a few years of fame, the activity of the casino collapsed gradually. The casino was on sale in 1976. The old casino now houses a restaurant , shops and conference rooms. Pourville is now part of Hautot sur Mer.
