| The city of Enghien-les-Bains was born in 1850. The village became a town in fashion to the Parisian high society. Enghien-les-Bains becomes a place of cure and entertainment.Under the leadership of journalist Hippolyte Villemessant, founder of Le Figaro, a Cercle is created in 1877,where one plays the game of petits chevaux (little horses). A first Kursaal (casino) came out of the ground,but never completed.
A new casino will open in 1888, and took the exclusive of gambling. |
