• In the nineteenth century the casinos, were the meeting place for people of similar socio-economic, professional and political conditions :the members went to them to keep a chat, to read the press, to play a game of pool and card games, or have a snack in the company of friends, something like English clubs. The casinos, were private clubs for the sociability of bourgeois and aristocratic classes. Despite its regulations banned the gambling, the same was present in almost the casinos. The New Casino was born 1856 .• The founders of New Casino, rent the main floor of a house in the Plaza del Castillo adjoining the theater then. The new casino began operating in a space composed of a main hall of columns, coffeehouse, gambling room, reading room, secretary and treasury, concierge room, hall and services. After several unsuccessful attempts to get a new headquarters, it rents to the bank Credit Navarro a building that entity built on the Castle Square number 44. Once disappeared the bank, the Casino purchase ownership of the building in 1977 . The main hall is for its size and good decorative taste the most impressive building of the whole area. The history of the Novo Casino, still working, is also the story of Pamplona.
