| In 1912, Enric Ribalta built in Barceloneta, the best bathing establishment in the city. After a visit to San Sebastian he was blown away by his casino, and came back with the idea of building a Casino Spa. It began the remodeling and expansion of the facilities in 1924. The Casino was inaugurated in 1928. The venture beyond the bathing establishment had a gambling room (Casino) , restaurants and a party room.
The casino had an ephemeral life, since the gambling was banned in Spain in 1929.
The activity of the bathing establishment continued, but no gambling, continuing to be one of the most prestigious in the city. During the war was bombed and almost destroyed, but was recovered from 1942, never again reopening the game.
The bathing set was demolished in 1988. |
