Originally owned by Clay Carr, who also owned the "Roundup Bar" on East Main Street during the 1950s. Loyd L. Gottnew took over ownership in 1957, after Carr's death.

T. R. King sold 1000 of these large crown chips in four denominations to Carr and later Gottnew between 1955 and 1957.
