Bar and licensed card room originally owned by John Joseph "Bud" Carey, who was previously the co-owner of the "Hollywood Club" (El Cerrito, CA). Also called "Shanty Club" and the "Shanty Bar and Grill". Around 1959 bought by Frank Dillon.

C. W. Rice shipped at least six colors of the "PC" L mold chips to Phil Carey in 1954, 1955, and 1957. The first shipment was sent directly to the club, and the second two were sent to 40th St. and San Pablo Ave, about 4 blocks away.
