ChipGuide - A Catalog of Casino Chips and Collectibles
530 Market Street
San Francisco, California
Type: Illegal
Status: Closed

Mason delivered these chips (between 1935 and 1938 per Mason die records) to Cook & Wickstrom, 530 Market Street, San Francisco, CA. This was the location of a cigar store operated by Thomas William Cook and Alfred Duke Wickstrom beginning around 1936 and to about 1942. (Pinball games, likely used as gambling devices, were confiscated at this location in 1937.)

These chips had previously been erroneously attributed to the Owl Club, Battle Mountain, NV.

About Illegal Casinos - by their nature, information about illegal, or unlicensed, casinos is hard to find and difficult to verify. Information presented on the ChipGuide about these casinos is provided as the result of our best efforts but may not be 100% accurate. Even if the information is accurate, gamblers move around and may take their equipment with them; items used in one casino may have also been used in others. Please send verified information about illegal casinos to the ChipGuide so that we may improve our accuracy.
