T. R. King sold about 5500 of these large crown chips to James Quartiano (534 Market Street) between 1942 and 1945. Quartiano was later the owner of the licensed "534 Club" card room (534 University, San Diego) during the late 1940s and 1950s.

Around 1945, ownership of the chips was transferred to the Pine Tree Card Room (San Diego, CA). First owned by Earl W. Stone, and after 1953 by J. E. Clark, who ordered more of these chips.
