A bar, licensed cardroom and illegal bookmaking operation (see Archive) originally owned by Robert W. Baker. Also called "The Friendly Club Cafe". Bought by Joe E. Marquez around 1955.

T. R. King sold 1000 of the "DICK" small crown chips in five denominations to Dick Redman at 123 N. Maple St., Escondido, CA (the address of the "Friendly Club") in 1950. (Redman was a dealer at the club). Baker bought another 1000 small crown chips with a club monogram in three denominations in 1953.
