In the early 1950s, it was called the "Tavern Card Room", and it was next door to the "Tavern" bar. Owned by Albert Pierucci and Frank A. Marsara. Across the street from the "Sutter Club".

T. R. King sold 4,110 of these large crown chips in five colors to the Tavern Club (c/o Albert Pierucci), 44 South Sutter Street, Stockton, California, in 1949.
