Night club and later licensed card room. Beginning in the 1940s, owned by Arthur H. Rinetti and Joseph M. Morelli, who temporarily lost their liquor license in 1949, after being convicted of operating gambling devices in their club. Later owned solely by Joe Morelli, who was sued in 1964 for not redeeming chips (worth $7600) won by a player in his card room. Morelli lost the case (see "Archive").
Attribution of the SqSqDi chips traced to Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998).
Armin Pfaender's California Chip Guide (2021) list the address as 3726 Stockton Boulevard. This was the address of the "J & J Club" (1970s), and Armin's guide likely confused the two clubs.
