T. R. King sold at least 5000 of these large crown chips in at least four colors to Sammy Bowitz, 121 Marine Avenue, Ocean Park, California, between 1938 and 1945. In 1952, ownership of the chips was transferred to T. W. Taylor, who ordered more of them.

121 Marine Avenue was the address of the "121 Club" until 1940. A bookie operation was raided at the address in May 1937, and Sam Boswitz was later arrested in neighboring Venice, CA, on book making charges in December 1937.
