Bar and licensed card room originally located at 635 West 17th Street. First owned and operated by Davis (Dutch) Hammill. While playing cards in his card room, Hammill was shot and killed in 1961 by a card player who he had accused of cheating. The card room moved to 647 W. 17th St. around 1979 (see "Archive").
T. R. King sold 500 of the large crown "DT" chips in 1961 and 2760 of the small crown chips between 1962 and 1969, to the Dutch Tavern, 638 West 17th Street, Merced, California.
