Around 1938, William “Bill” Harold Clark (born 1911) opened the “Alamo Cafe” at this address which he operated for over 20 years, adding a billiard parlor next door in the 1950's. A poker room was reported there in the 1940s. He changed the name to the "Cozy Cafe" in the early 1960's and by the mid-1960s it was gone.
Mason sold 400 of these chips in four denominations to the Alamo Cafe (c/o Wm. H. Clark), 1631 Alamitos Avenue, Long Beach, California on 11/22 and 12/13/1940.
