| Unlicensed gambling was reported there in the 1920s and 1930s. Later it was a licensed card room, owned in the 1950s and 1960s by Nick Gacanich. In the 1980s it was owned by Don Stewart. Also called the "Pioneer Rex Casino".
The attribution of the L-mold hot stamp chips and the H&C-mold inlaid "covered wagon" chips is traced to Eastman's Illustrated Guide to California Card Room Gaming Chips & Checks (1998). Note: Eastman attributes different H&C-mold "covered wagon" chips to the "Pacheco Inn Casino" (Pacheco, CA).
