Also called "The Avalon" and the "Avalon Social Club". Originally at 3984 San Pablo Avenue. Previously at that address was "Dave's Club", which was raided for gambling in 1940. In 1943 it was owned by Carl W. Ahlin and John Conger, and Conger takes full ownership of the club in the mid-1940s.
In 1949, the club moved to the ground floor of the Ritz Hotel, at 3921 Adeline Street, and was owned by Catherine Conger and Edith Fanuzzi. The "Yosemite Club" was previously in that space in the Ritz Hotel (see "Archive" for details).
