C. W. Rice sold 1500 of these "C" hot stamp HHL-mold chips in several denominations to Ralph Campbell, Chico, California in 1971.

In 1969, Ralph F. Campbell bought the "Club Chico", a bar and licensed card room, at 2424 Cohasset Highway, Chico, CA. In 1970, Campbell bought the "Horseshoe Club", also a bar and licensed card room, at 379 Park Avenue, Chico, CA. Campbell sold "Club Chico" in 1980 (see "Archive"). These chips may have been used at both card rooms.
