The Bicycle Club opened in 1984 with 104 tables, the most of any card room in the country at the time. In 1991, the federal government took over financial control of the casino after the management had been convicted of allowing money laundering, kickbacks, loan sharking, and hosting illegal games at the club. It was again privatized in 1996. In 2004, its card room licensed was expanded from 135 tables to 155 tables.
With the addition of restaurants and a seven story, 99 room, hotel property in 2015, the Bicycle Hotel & Casino became a full-service gaming and resort destination. In April 2022, the casino was bought by Parkwest Casinos, and rebranded as Parkwest Bicycle Casino (see "Became").
