These chips were shipped to the "Bamboo Chop Sticks", a Chinese restaurant that was owned by William "Bill" Lee, and his father Lee Hong Sing. In 1949, the restaurant was described as having attached to it "a private banquet room...available for gatherings of all kinds" (see "Archive").

T. R. King sold 2,000 of these large crown chips in five colors to William C. Lee, 1203 18th Street, Bakersfield, California, in 1946.
